The SIP France story

SIP France story

SIP France is led by bilingual architect Steven Downs, RIBA-trained in the UK and working as maître d’œuvre in France for over 20 years. While Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are widely adopted across Europe, Steven identified a clear gap in the French market for a specialist provider combining technical expertise, on-site experience, and education.

SIP France was founded to deliver high-performance SIP structures across France, alongside the knowledge and support needed to make this eco-friendly construction method accessible and reliable. With the introduction of RE2020, airtight SIP buildings have become one of the most effective ways for designers and contractors to achieve compliance with confidence.

Today, SIP France goes further - offering solar roofing and high-performance glazing solutions to help eco-conscious homebuilders create a fully optimised, energy-efficient building envelope through a single, coordinated approach. Through close partnerships with leading European manufacturers, we bring proven, innovative solutions to the French market.

We are proud to partner with SIP Europe, a leading SIP and timber-frame manufacturer based in Slovakia and committed to environmental excellence. Using advanced carbon-analysis software, each project is calculated to achieve a negative carbon footprint of between –12,000 and –30,000 kg of CO₂. Close collaboration between Steven, our architectural design team, SIP Europe engineers, and certified installation partners ensures every structure meets French regulations, optimises material use, and performs flawlessly in reality - not just on paper.
